48. Metafisica del fotogramma – Metaphysics of Frame (2/2)

3. In pixel-Becoming, the instant does not concern the Totality – which remains identical to itself – but the node or nodes that are replaced. The pixel hypothesis is certainly more economical than the photogrammatic one if and only if the number of becoming nodes – those replaced, those whose differentiation with subsequent nodes can be said – is largely or very largely less than the total number of nodes Nt. If this were not the case or even if all the nodes were replaced by different nodes in the following instant, the photogrammatic perspective would apply.
Parmenides was also right in hypothesizing that immovable is a direct function of the instant, that is, it exists only in the instant. It is irrelevant whether immovable is Totality or one of its nodes. The Einstein hypothesis of the point-event implies a sort of Totality of Totalities, as if all frames were collected in the Unique Possible Instant – and so it remains paradoxical that his special relativity makes a clean sweep of the hypothesis of physical simultaneity.
4. The Einsteinian perspective is suggestive because it abolishes time as exclusivity – the presence of each instant excludes the presence of all others instants – and the constraint of contemporaneity of all the nodes belonging to the same Totality present in the instant: all the nodes of all the Totalities that follow one another at every instant are contemporary and this placement outside of time (if there is only contemporaneity there is no more succession, that is, there is no more time) allows us to connect, in principle, any node of any Totality with any node of any Totality. That is, it also allows transversal Totalities, Totalities constructed by combining nodes of different Totalities.
The immobility of Einstein’s points-events indicates, according to the most radical Parmenidean orthodoxy, that Becoming lies in the gaze of the beholder. And it indicates also that appearance, the phainomenon, is not a weakened form of Being but is the name indicating the spontaneous function of the gaze that looks at things: the gaze that combines the immovables inside the time by saying them. Only the immovable is speakable but the speakable is inevitably subsequent. Appearance is the mobile form in which it is possible for us to express the immovable.
