50. Mechanica entis (1/4)

Matrix could be the fulfillment of the thousands-year old sapiential dream of the Occieent.
The story of the Occident hides at its origin an irrepressible, structural, decisive and unifying tendency towards the mechanischer Aufbau der Welt. The destiny of the Occident – of the sapientiality that generated the Occident – is Matrix. And Matrix – prophetically – is the condition in which mortals, after having made everything Bestand der Mechanik, once mechanics have assumed consistency and autonomy, become redundant themselves and survive only as an evolved Bestand, as a mere suppositio materialis of the huge final mechanism. The relationship between mechanism and organism – being the first as a function of the second – is reversed into being the second as a function of the first.
At the end of the journey, the presence of the mortals who started the dance with their original sapiential choice, becomes unnecessary: what we have built for ourselves first becomes what we have built for itself and then what builds itself by itself.
In the end, mechanics is the most radical and effective form of refutation of death that the sapiential form of mortals has developed. It is the form in which mortals have imagined their own immortality – their own equality with the Immortals.
Thus we mortals as mortals – brotoi – become irrelevant, pleonastic and redundant with respect to the mechanism we have built – being Bestand gives no guarantees because it is at the end irrelevant what Bestand is, but simply that it is, that it can be used as such.
So, being mortal is what preserves us from our dissolution in the mechanism, from the mechanical curse of our sapiential form that leads (and leads us) inexorably towards Matrix. It is the unexpected and dramatic conclusion of a journey that began by computing according to defined algorithms (logical algorithms, such as omne quod movetur ab alio movetur, ire non est ad infinitum, potentia specification ab actu, and so on) the universals built to say the things, unavoidable premise to be able to treat them first and then to manipulate them.
Inexorably universals and algorithms, in saying the things, replace the things and become things in turn, more available and manipulable than the things, whose they were initially a mere expedient to be able to domesticate them.
The challenge was to make the things – replaced but not suppressed by what we say about them – manipulable after having made them available by taking them away from themselves and from their own autonomy. The form of manipulability of the things is their infinite recombinability which reconfigures them as components. The unlimited reconfigurability and recombinability of the things is the inevitable consequence of indifferentia entis. Components and recombinability according to defined algorithms are mechanics: at the beginning only logical mechanics – mechanical relationships between words – but gradually more and more thingal mechanics – mechanical relationships between things – as the indifferentia entis allows the exploration of combinabilities increasingly distant from the initial, i.e. natural, condition.
